Housed in a beautiful grade II listed building at the bottom of Jesmond and next to the beautiful Exhibition Park, it’s perfectly located for locals and students alike. Emphasising a focus on high quality, locally sourced food, sweet treats, and drinks, we really think Burds cafe needs to become one of your go-to’s for a brunch and a brew.

The menu includes all of your favourite brunch items, but Burds’ fan favourite is “The Muff”. You need to give this a try – locally sourced sausage meat patty, bacon, fried egg, hash brown, American cheese, and ketchup crammed between a soft and fluffy English muffin. It’s guilty, but it’s absolutely gorgeous.

That’s far from the only great option on the menu. You’ll also find butties, eggs on toast, baked oats, avocado on toast, buttermilk chicken brioche, croque monsieur, stilton on toast…. The list goes on. Fans of the classics will love the eggs benny and the eggs royale, with two perfectly poached eggs sitting on a fluffy muffin and accompanied by delicious smoked salmon or cherry coke ham. It’s full of flavour and perfect for brunch!
