Newcastle and the North East have some great Asian restaurants, but up there with the best is the Buddha Lounge. With the Snapsaver App partnered with the South Shields establishment, we recently went down to give them a go – here’s what we thought!
With its absolutely stunning interior, the Buddha Lounge is by far one of the most elegant restaurants in the North East; It’s like stepping into Newcastle’s own slice of south Asia. Dark, moody furniture is accented by the red chandeliers and the striking statues and artworks that line the venue. The place also smells incredible and will make your stomach rumble.
The Buddha Lounge doesn’t narrow itself to one cuisine. Instead, they serve incredible Pan- Asian Food, meaning you get the best flavours from each cuisine – take a look!
Start off with some Asian Tapas including duck spring rolls, edamame beans, salt and chilli chicken, angry Korean BBQ ribs and more, before you tuck into some glorious dim sum. Wait…. there’s more? Buddha Lounge can also make you some delicious sushi, with sashimi, nigiri, and all sorts of rolls.
Or are you eating as part of a group and fancy a shared experience? Then order a sharing platter that comes with a variety of interesting small plates for you to share with your mates. All this is just to start, so don’t spoil your dinner!
Once you’ve finished your starter, you’re going to be wanting to tuck into a main course. The Buddha Lounge’s taste of Asia includes a variety of curry-based dishes that incorporate a wide range of different profiles and flavours from Thailand and China.
