I often find myself choosing a stylish dining experience over a Big Night out and a 2 day hangover, I know what is the world coming to haha.

Chez Mal Newcastle is where you’ll find a stylish twist on a traditional brasserie that will not disappoint. With a daily plat du jour and creatively converted classics such as our tuna tartare, strip steaks and Meantime ale moules frites, Chez Mal Brasserie Newcastle is where French classics are reinterpreted with Malmaison flair.

Usually I’m a Fillet guy but I was uncharacteristically swayed by the waiter to give the Ribeye a whirl (must have been having a submissive day haha). Anyway when the food came out the generous portions from the superstar chefs put a big smile on my face but by this point the potential repercussions of my decision started to take hold, and a moment of panic set in.

I took a tentative first bite of the steak and sauce, the Marbled fat was rendered beautifully and just melted in the mouth complemented by a superb rich peppercorn sauce, I was not disappointed. And to top it off the barmaid made a wicked Brockmans & Elderflower with all the trimmings (G&T for the uncouth).
